Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
Staq is designed as a local-first route planning app. This policy explains what data the app uses and why.
Data you enter
Addresses, route names, notes, saved routes, completed stops and route history are stored locally on your device. Staq does not require an account.
Location
If you grant location permission, Staq uses your device location to suggest nearby stops and, when enabled, to record completion coordinates for completed stops. Location is used on device for app functionality.
Camera, photos and OCR
If you choose to scan text from the camera or photo library, the selected image is processed to extract addresses. Staq uses this only to fill the address input.
Maps and navigation
When you open a route or stop in Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze, destination data is passed to the selected navigation app. Their privacy policies apply to that use.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple through StoreKit. Staq receives entitlement information needed to unlock Pro features, but payment details are handled by Apple.
Exports and sharing
If you export or share a route, the exported file may include addresses, completion status, completion time and completion coordinates where available. You control where that file is sent.
